Plotzensee prison was designated as an execution shed. The Plotzensee guillotine has the distinction of killing more people than any other Nazi guillotine. I believe that the photo below was taken in 1923.
In 1944 an all metal modified Mannhardt guillotine was transfrred from Strasbourg France to Bruchsal prison and installed in an odd looking execution shed built under a prison wall. This all metal guillotine was used to execute 55 people in Bruchsal prison.
In 1944, this fallbeil was transferred from Strasbourg, France to the new execution center at Bruchsaler where it was used to execute 55 people. There is some evidence that it is the fallbeil that was used in Strasbourg between 1890 and 1914 when Alsace-Lorraine were under German rule.
